jacaranda trees

journal-entry

The jacaranda trees are blooming.

Mum said they only flower for a brief period before littering their magnificent purple flowers everywhere. I shouldn't say they're blooming really; rather, they did bloom and as Mum warned, they are now ridding themselves of the most spectacular thing they bear.

Truth be told, I don't care if they flower for too long. There is something quite beautiful about their shape-shifting impermanence.

If one day I find myself with any plot of land, I will plant one (or two) of these magnificent trees, along with the apple sapling I grew from a seed.
